Something about that Name!

 Research shows that since our inception several "unofficial" names have been used to identify the First Apostolic Council. Historically people across the country have been unclear about the exact designation of this great body.

     This fact is evidenced by information gleaned from some of the oldest references in print. Prior to our official charter information being submitted to the secretary of state, some of the (unofficial) names included:

• The First Kentucky Council

• The Kentucky and Middle Tennessee Council

• The First Apostolic Council of Kentucky and Middle Tennessee

Although in the past these names loosely identified our ministerial boundaries, none of them were officially adopted by the F.A.C. general body except for the following:

   (ca.)1909 to 1923         The Louisville Assembly

1923 to 1939         The Kentucky State Council

1939 to 1945         The First Apostolic Council of Kentucky

1945 to 1971         The First Apostolic Council of Kentucky & Tennessee

June 1971 to present     The First Apostolic Council of Kentucky & Tennessee (P.A.W.), Inc.       

Note: the word "Middle" has never officially been part of the council's name.
